Has anyone ever sent a Molly doll into the American Girl Doll Hospital? When you get Molly back, does she come with a new pair of glasses, too? One last question, do they clean your doll when you send her in?

    Thanks!

Junebug, I wasn't ignoring you I just don't have the answers for you. I've never sent a doll to the hospital. Hopefully someone else can answer your question.

I sent Elisabeth's old Molly in. She did not come back cleaned or with glasses but she looked great. She had a newer looking head. I also sent two very old Samanthas back and they came back with the old style head. My white bodied one had a haircut and I wanted it replaced because of that and was willing to pay for it but for some reason they did her free.

I guess it depends on how busy they are and who the "doctor" is

We sent our Molly to the doll hospital for a head replacement. She did not come home with glasse. She was an older Molly and they gave her a whole new body. They sent a letter explaining that they gave her a whole new body as well. I have a feeling it may be because it was an older body, not white though, and didn't want someone to claim that it was an early doll. She came with the new way of attaching the head, without the string ties. We were very happy because she was a whole new doll!

I sent my Molly in too. I got her in 1991, so she was in pretty bad shape when she went in last summer, but she looks great now. A lot differet from the '91 doll (the hair color is notably altered), but great.

As people above mentioned, new glasses don't come with, but you can order those separately for $6 or $8 (not sure on price)and they have a couple different versions of them. Good luck if you decide to send yours in!

At the bottom of the page, you can see how Molly looks when she's done with 'the transplant'.

I was planning on sending my Molly for a head replacement.... funny coincedence. Her hair is just too frizzy and her face is just too dull. Her eyes are the dull part mostly. The newer molly is prettier. WAY prettier.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Was this recently or quite a while ago? I sent my Samantha in and expected she'd be different when she returned, since I knew the coloring had changed. But she didn't look like the newer ones when she came back. I didn't know whether it was my imagination or if she possibly did get an old style head. I'm still not sure because she looks different than the catalog doll but I don't have an old picture to compare her to.
